Welcome!
Tairen McCollister's goal is to provide support to those working with children, adolescents, and their families. This was born out of a desire to change the way educators and parents handle children affected by Trauma and Adversity. She is an educator, parent, advocate, and firm believer in the power of knowledge and information to change the way we heal children through their Trauma, Social Emotional struggles, while ensuring they receive an Equitable and Inclusive Education.
We cannot fix everything, but we can resolve to learn more and avoid re-traumatizing them both at home and in our schools. Implementing Diversity and Inclusive practices for students with learning difficulties, neurodivergent, and more, is key to not only helping to heal trauma, but key to students being able to learn. Being prepared to address the adversity that our students face is not only critical and necessary, but it is also feasible. Students can suffer from various Traumas many, at first thought, would not consider as a Trauma: divorce, separation, adoption, foster care, abuse, even something that seems so normal...a physical move. We can tackle these problems, together.
Meeting the needs of the Whole Child is the only path forward. Welcome.

Professional Development and Training
In the Academic setting, Trauma can manifest in learning challenges, behavioral issues, and other deficits. Training and Coaching in Trauma Awareness, Trauma-Informed Practices, and more can ensure students have their needs met both academically and emotionally.
Training on early interventions, the neuroscience behind learning and behaviors, as well as exploring strategies and practices that can be implemented in educational settings to best meet the needs of students is critical.
Educational staff learning about or expanding current knowledge around trauma and adversity can truly shift the trajectory of their practices.
Services for students on yoga, mindfulness, and meditation to increase their ability to self-regulate are available as well.
Parents, Caregivers, and Adoption/Foster Care Organizations
For those on the frontlines of trauma, insight into the impact of Trauma and brain development, behaviors, learning, early interventions, nutritional interventions, and overall well-being for children who have experienced trauma.
Nonprofit & Community & Child-focused Organizations
Children being served through community based organizations bring trauma with them; those providing services can benefit from training on awareness and strategies that can benefit programs serving various populations.
